The Story of Blue Shell Villa

Blue Shell Villa was conceived from our family Christmas vacation experience in 2021. On December 23rd, my daughters and I arrived  at our reserved vacation villa after a lengthy day of travel from the United States. Upon arrival, the guard at the gate told us we were not on the guest list. I presented my Expedia confirmation to the guard, to which he replied “I’m sorry Sir, I checked again, and you are not on the list.”

After a 3-hour interaction with the Expedia Representative and the  discourteous Host, we were informed by the guard that there were other guests in the unit. We attempted to secure alternative accommodations with the help of the Expedia Representative. However, all properties were fully booked due to the proximity to Christmas. As a last resort, I reached out to my sister in the US, who owns a home in the Tower Isles area, and requested to stay at her home for the two-week vacation. Reflecting on the experience during my morning beach runs, I pondered the prospect of not having family nearby and other visitors having a similar experience, and having to return home. Streams of thoughts arose regarding the repercussions on families, having planned a tropical vacation, traveled for hours, exhausted and simply wanting to relax and enjoy quality time with friends and family. 

On one of my morning runs, I curiously veered into the Jamaica Beach Community, and saw the beautiful homes with breath-taking ocean views. Later that day, I returned with my daughters, and they instantly fell in love with the scenic views and calm of the neighborhood.

The singular experience was the catalyst for the creation of Blue Shell Villa. Our vision is to give visitors on a tropical Jamaican vacation an experience that is unforgettably relaxing, refreshing and restorative.
